Tissue Anatomy
The tissue used is a small segment (about 2 cm) of ileum removed from a freshly killed guinea pig.
If you are to understand these experiments, you need to know the basic anatomy of the ileum - particularly the arrangement of circular and longitudinal muscle fibres and how they are innervated.
