In this experiment, you expose a piece of guinea pig ileum to a range of drugs in order to:
- See how the ileum responds to these drugs
- Produce a description of the pharmacological properties of the drugs eg is a drug an agonist, antagonist or neither?
- Find out - by using combinations of drugs - on which receptor(s) a drug acts
