- First, construct the dose-response curve of the agonist only
- Secondly, construct the dose-response curve for the agonist in the presence of one concentration of the antagonist
- Finally, construct the dose-response curve for the agonist in the presence of a range of concentrations of the antagonist until you think you have sufficient results that you can characterise the antagonist
