Alpha Blockers (Alpha-Adrenoceptor Antagonists)
WHAT ELSE CAN ALPHA BLOCKERS BE USED FOR?
The main use of alpha blockers (α1-selective blockers) is in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Prazosin is licensed for the treatment of Raynaud’s syndrome (but its efficacy is not established).
Note: The non-selective alpha blocker, phenoxybenzamine, is only indicated
for the treatment of hypertension in phaeochromocytoma.
