Objectives

After finishing this activity, you should be able to:

1. describe what a percentage indicates
2. state an equation linking percentage, amount of a component and total amount of all components
3. do calculations using the above equation ie you should be able to a calculate:
   1. percentages
   2. the amount of a component in a specified amount of preparation
   3. the total amount of a component containing a specified amount of a component.

Prerequisites

This is a very basic activity, requiring no special knowledge. You will probably need a calculator.
