How to Do Conversions
In the next screens, you are asked to convert between units of mass.
To convert from a larger unit to a smaller unit
- Find by how many times the larger unit is bigger than the smaller unit
- Multiply the larger unit by this number
To convert from a smaller unit to a larger unit
- Find by how many times the smaller unit is less than the larger unit
- Divide the smaller unit by this number
Example
Convert 65 nanograms to micrograms.
1 µg = 10-6 m
1 ng = 10-9 m
1 nanogram is 10-6 times ie 103 times smaller than a microgram.
10-9
Thus: 65 ng = 65 / 103µg =0.065µg

Example
Convert 7.5 milligrams to micrograms.
1 mg = 10-3 g
1 µg = 10-6 g
1 milligram is 10-3 times ie 103 times larger than 1 microgram
10-3
Thus: 7.5 mg = 7.5 x 103µg = 7500µg
