When you do practical aspects of pharmacy, you will use measuring instruments such as balances and dispensing measures.

When using these instruments, any measurements you make will contain a certain amount of error because measuring instruments are not 100 % accurate.
You need to know how to calculate the amount of error in a measurement.

Why do you need to know the error in a measurement?

    If you know the error in a measurement and the accuracy of the instrument used, you can then decide:
  1. whether you are using the correct instrument
  2. whether the procedure you are using is adequate.
